My Top 5 Books of ALL TIME!

Hey Kings and Kweens,

It’s that time of the year, when you grab your favorite pair of sweats, make your favorite tea, put on a pair of socks, your favorite hood, and lastly grab a good book and get lost in the pages. Today, I am here to share my top 5 favorite books! So, let's get into it.

James Baldwin “The Fire Next Time”

Okay, ya'll, this book is fire! If you know who this man is then, you will agree. The book consists of two letters. The first letter is about Baldwin's upbringing in Harlem, which is super interesting, who knew he was a preacher! The second letter about is how racism continues to shape America, how he spoke for our people, and he meets the Prophet Elijah Muhammad. I enjoyed this book and hopefully you will too.

Terry Mcmillan “Who Asked You?”

We ALL know who this lovely lady is and for those who don't she wrote “How Stella Got Her Groove Back.” Yet, in this book “Who Asked You” she talks about a mother who leaves her sons with her mom to raise them. And Grandma has a lot on her plate. She’s taking care of her ill husband, her son is in prison, her two sisters are two overly opinionated - all while working & still wanting to follow her dreams. If this sounds like a good read to you, read it! Trust me, she doesn't disappoint. I love this book as well.

Richard Wright “Black Boy”

“Black Boy” is about post slavery and pre-emancipation proclamation and it was not a breeze being black in the U.S. especially in the South. Richard went through so much from his father leaving him, his mom struggling to take care of him and his brother, his strict family views, living in a group home and the most important thing to him was being hungry all the time. This book sheds light on how it was to be black and let's say it was life or death. I recommend this book to anyone!

Zane “Addicted”

Now, this book I can’t give away to much because BABY it’s for the GROWN GROWN and after you read it, you might ready to jump on your man or lady! But let’s just say it’s a good read if you're into erotica novels.

Cairo “Man Swappers”

This book is another grown G R O W N, book! & yea I had to space it out cause these triplets shared everything and all of a sudden things changed and somebody was pressed.... HONEY! But, you gotta read to find out who.

Ok, so there you have it! My favorite 5 books, as of now.
